Peaceful agitation for a “large scale” installation in an explosive environment…

RHODIA has entrusted AGITEC® with designing and producing stirrers for its largest treatment vessel for the synthesis of silicones.
This installation satisfies the ATEX standards.
The sealing, calculated for pressure of 5.5 bars and 240 degrees, is guaranteed by a 250-millimeter diameter double cooled seal, lubricated by a hydraulic group which is itself instrumented, the whole supplied by John Crane.
AGITEC® has integrated into the assembly process a couple measuring cell transmitted by the 45 KW engine, and the electronic signal which is transmitted by the command room. This makes it possible to monitor the process in real time.

The reducer and sealing ensemble are also “instrumented” themselves. The temperature of the points most sensitive to a rise in temperature are thus monitored permanently in an automatic manner.
The unit, once assembled on the vessel, weighs 7 tonnes.
The anchor operates in a severe atmosphere combining silica and solvents. It rotates just a few millimeters from the wall of the vessel.

AGITEC® has successfully applied its usual mechanical precision to exceptional dimensions, using electronics for greater security.
